It was somewhere in the middle of the last decade when the day came, as it does for the lucky ones, that I realized I had to quit fucking around with amphetamines. My friends and I had all taken to carrying micro-cassette recorders on our persons- the attempts at secrecy were pitiful as we documented and reported one another’s shit-talking; our collective paranoia a caricature as action after action escalated into shattering social betrayal. We don’t talk anymore.
