There has been considerable confusion over the past few hours as to whether the Senate — which passed the National Defense Authorization Act (FY 2012) — included a last-minute “waiver” to protect American citizens from some of the bill’s more outrageous and fascist elements, including the right of the US government to detain citizens — even those on American soil, and not charged with a crime — indefinitely in military prison. This means that peaceful protesters could be rounded up,…
For the next week or two, site functionality will be spotty as I build this guy back out from from the ground up. But then, new coolness. Stay tuned.
Breakup jam I made a few months back. Listen below; D/L here.
Chambaland - “Fuck You, I’ll Survive” (Gloria Gaynor vs. Cee Lo Green)
With no desire to be tastemakers, the good people @ AMFMPM have been up to other things lately. NAMELY:
MRTIM has been holding down the internet-approved Our Valued Customers for some time now. Featuring only the best and brightest comic store shoppers, don’t hate- let Our Valued Customers do it for you!
Left Handed Radio is a new monthly sketch show from your favorite New York comedy jerks. Recently featured on both The Apiary and The Daily What, you can give a…
Nice!, the nicest comedy show ever is jazzed to bring you the most cubicle trashing, necktie burning edition ever of our monthly show this Sunday, August 8th at…
By far, the saddest shit I ever pulled to win favor with a girl was “aging” a note with tea water and wrinkles when I was in 8th grade in order to stage a Can’t Hardly Wait-esque “I’ve had this note forever!” moment. To her credit, she didn’t out-and-out turn me over to be (deservedly) mocked, but she did have some trouble understanding why there were obvious burn marks around the note’s edges- like it had survived the Korean War or something.
I think she said it was sweet, but then it…
Hey, strangers-
I’m Dan. I’m a comedian in New York. I used to run this music blog, but then I got tired of it, and haven’t touched it since March.
In the last few months, I got really into making mashups, which I largely distribute via my Tumblr. Here are some of them.
Genesis vs. Katy Perry - “Invisible Gurls” (Chambaland Mashup)
Nirvana vs. Justin Bieber - “Smells Like Tween Spirit” (Chambaland Mashup)
Madonna vs. Ke$ha - “Like a Drug” (Chambaland Mashup)
Weezer vs. Rihanna…
Welcome to the working week, NYC. Had a pass at the admittedly well produced Ke$ha instru a few months back, to moderate success. Much more pleased with this go around, as we learn once again that all the headbands and pitch correction in the world don’t mean pop music has changed at all in the last half century.
Except that Ke$ha is dreadful. Press release goodtimes back in swing tomorrow!
The Supremes vs. Ke$ha “Tik Stop” (Chambaland Mashup)
Hey New York people! Come hit up Orson Welles’ Basement of Terror next Thursday night @ the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre! Written by Frank Hejl, directed by Chuck Dauble, and featuring the best cast this side of 1994 Mickey Mouse Club. There’s no laughter like terror laughter.
